2022: The Year Live Tech Games Topped App Store Charts and Made Waves in the Digital Entertainment Industry

Throughout 2022, Live Tech Games has reached numerous exciting milestones. From receiving multiple National Startup Awards, to partnerships with ITV and launching a mobile game alongside the Fifa World Cup. The team has been on target to hit plenty of their goals for this year. Here are just a few highlights…

Pogl

Earlier this year, the technology startup widened its audience and went international with the launch of puzzle game, pogl. Live Tech Games brought its unique mix of live, competitive gameplay to mobile gamers across the US. The word-trivia game proved to be very successful as over 8,000 players signed up to the pregame mailing list.

The first pogl game saw a huge number of players and overall the game received over 10,000 downloads. With brands like Emma+Oliver, Sweaty Bands, and Pro Writing Aid signed up to sponsor the mobile game, Live Tech Games has high hopes for even more sponsors to get involved with pogl next year. The team are now keen to progress pogl as a platform further, by bringing more exciting games to the US.

WordSurge

As part of Live Tech Games’ partnership with ITV,  WordSurge, the interactive trivia game, was launched onto our TV screens by This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary. The mobile game was an instant hit with viewers. It achieved over 47% engagement with audiences within just the first two weeks.

After partnering with ITV in 2021, Live Tech Games has developed a number of creative projects to engage viewers; WordSurge definitely proved to be successful amongst the audience. On its first day, WordSurge secured the coveted slot of No.1 Free Game and No.1 Free Trivia app in the App Store charts. WordSurge has seen a staggering 3,752,212 minutes of gameplay so far, and there is so much more in store for the WordSurge phenomenon.

KnockOut

Live Tech Games finished the year with a KnockOut. It was the second interactive game in the ITV series which partnered with the broadcaster’s World Cup coverage. Although England may not have secured the final win, Live Tech Games definitely scored with such a relevant and engaging trivia game. Players were immersed in the world of sport and raced other opponents against the clock to win big money. There were 17 winners across the series of the game with a total of £25,000 given away; Live Tech Games certainly helped to spread the Christmas cheer.

The KnockOut mobile game was a huge step forward for Live Tech Games, with the app downloaded in excess of 50,000 times. It enabled ITV viewers to transform themselves into active players and put their World Cup knowledge to the test. Live Tech Games has exciting future plans to create more interactive games with ITV and aims to further engage viewers with competitive trivia.

We are beyond thrilled with the results that we have achieved throughout 2022. Our mobile games have been received better than we could have imagined by the wide range of audiences that we have targeted this year in both the UK and the US. We only hope to further this success in 2023 and continue to engage players across the globe with interactive games. From all at Live Tech Games, thank you to everyone who downloaded, played and won with us this year!
